Independent Review – Speero Scales Pouch

The Speero Scales Pouch is one of those products that doesn’t get much attention, but after using it for a while it’s become something I’d definitely replace if I ever lost it. It might only be a pouch for your scales, but it does exactly what it’s designed to do, and it does it really well.
I use a set of Reuben Heaton scales, and they fit inside perfectly. There’s enough padding to stop them getting knocked about in the back of the rucksack or bouncing around in the van between sessions. Scales aren’t cheap these days, so it makes sense to keep them protected rather than just chucking them in amongst your tackle.
Like all of the Speero luggage I’ve owned, the quality is excellent. The material feels hard-wearing and water-resistant, the zip is smooth and robust, and the stitching is neat throughout. It feels like it’ll comfortably last for years of regular use.
One thing I also like is that it matches the rest of my Speero luggage. It might not make me catch any more carp, but having everything in matching luggage makes my kit feel organised and easy to find. If you’ve already invested in Speero bags, this fits in perfectly with the rest of the range.
It’s a simple product, but sometimes those are the best. There’s no unnecessary gimmicks or overcomplicated design—just a well-made padded pouch that keeps an expensive piece of kit safe and ready for when you need it.

If you own a decent set of scales, they’re worth looking after. The Speero Scales Pouch is well made, nicely padded and built to last, offering excellent protection without taking up much room in your luggage. It’s another quality product from Speero that quietly gets on with its job.
