Another long-standing name in the angling trade has sadly closed its doors.
Poingdestre’s has announced that it is ceasing trading with immediate effect after an incredible 56 years of selling fishing tackle both in-store and online.
In a brief statement, owners Steve and Liz Poingdestre said:
“We would like to announce that after 56 years selling fishing tackle online and in store, we are now ceasing trading with immediate effect. e would like to thank our customers and staff for their support over many years. We are now looking forward to our retirement.
Tight lines, Steve and Liz Poingdestre."
After more than half a century serving anglers, it marks the end of another hugely recognisable tackle business.
Whatever the reasons behind the decision, 56 years in the trade is some achievement, and Steve and Liz deserve to enjoy their retirement.
