NoCarpTax Sparks Debate Across the Carp Fishing Community

There’s been plenty of discussion this week after outspoken angler C4rpy Craig launched his new website, NoCarpTax.com.

The idea behind the site is simple: it links anglers to lower-cost alternatives from marketplaces such as Temu that Craig claims are the same products sold by some of the bigger carp brands, but without the higher price tag.

As you’d expect, the launch has divided opinion. Some anglers believe it’s exposing unnecessary mark-ups and helping people save money, while others argue it could damage the tackle industry, reduce investment in product development, and ultimately hurt the brands that support the sport.

It’s certainly opened up a wider debate about the so-called “carp tax”—the premium often associated with tackle marketed specifically to carp anglers.

So, what do you think?

  • Is NoCarpTax a good thing for anglers looking to save money?

  • Or does it risk damaging the manufacturers and retailers that keep the industry moving?

  • Are some products genuinely identical, or is there more to the story than simply comparing appearances?

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts. Keep the discussion respectful and let us know where you stand.
