More than just catching carp

Most of us head to the bank hoping for a bite, but sometimes the biggest reward has nothing to do with what’s in the net.

After a difficult couple of weeks, @kd_southwest returned to the bank for some much-needed headspace. As many anglers will relate to, a few quiet hours under the brolly can be the perfect escape from the pressures of everyday life – a chance to clear your mind, reflect, and reset.

The carp were simply the icing on the cake, with the session producing the famous Ashmead mirror known as ‘Ziggy’. The fish was tempted from a hole in the weed using the washing line method, with a strong weed setup giving the best chance of landing the fish safely.

It’s a reminder of why so many of us love carp fishing. The captures are unforgettable, but the peace, perspective and time away from the noise of everyday life are often what keep us coming back.

Have you ever had a session that did more for your mind than your photo album?
