Congratulations to Michael Adams, who recently enjoyed an unforgettable 48-hour session at the famous Frimley complex, banking this magnificent 41lb common known as “Crinkle Tail.”
After arriving at the lake, Michael did what many experienced anglers do and completed a full lap before making his decision. With very little showing, he opted for a swim that had produced for him in the past, trusting previous experience over chasing signs that simply weren’t there.
Fishing three rods to three different areas, the successful rod was positioned over a firm, silty spot to his right. The area had been heavily baited with Mainline 15mm Hole ISO Fish boilies, ISO Fish crumb, and plenty of the matching ISO Fish Smart Liquid to build a concentrated feeding area.
The take itself wasn’t the explosive run many anglers dream of. Instead, the bobbin slowly lifted and held, suggesting something wasn’t quite right. Michael believes the carp barely realised it was hooked until it reached the margins, where it suddenly came alive and put up a serious scrap before finally slipping over the waiting net.
Looking down into the mesh, he immediately recognised the fish as Crinkle Tail—a carp he’d actually photographed for another angler in the past. This time, however, it was his turn to hold the famous Frimley common.
Michael described the capture as one of his most memorable yet, saying he was “over the moon” with the result after sticking to his instincts and fishing with confidence.
