If you’ve followed the fishing at Embryo Norton Disney over the last few years, you’ll probably remember John Kendall landing Shoulders at 52lb to set a new complex record.
Well, he’s back… and this latest session on Pettitts was something else.
Fishing from Swim 1, John went against what many would expect. Rather than fishing at long range, he focused on a spot just 11 wraps down the left-hand margin, fishing single solid bags off the side of the bar between Swims 1 and 2. His hookbait? The same pink dumbbell wafter that’s played a big part in plenty of his previous Pettitts captures.
The results speak for themselves.
First came Donna, a stunning common that pulled the scales round to a new top weight of 44lb 6oz.
As if that wasn’t enough, just a few hours later he added Sci-Fi at 38lb from the very same area.
Then, on the following morning, John noticed fish showing over a longer spot at 20 wraps towards the bird screen. One cast later he was into Two Scale, another of Pettitts’ most sought-after residents, weighing 39lb 4oz.
Three of the lake’s best-known carp in a single session is some going, and it’s another reminder that watercraft and confidence in your own approach can often count for more than simply following the crowd.
