The Delkim TXi Plus generation still has a huge following despite being superseded by newer Delkim systems.
The reason is simple.
They worked.
Delkim’s distinctive feature has always been vibration-based bite detection rather than relying on a conventional roller wheel.
That gives the alarms a very different response to line movement.
Some anglers absolutely love it.
Others prefer the predictability of rollers.
If you’re buying TXi Plus alarms used, check everything.
Speaker.
LEDs.
Buttons.
Sensitivity adjustment.
Battery compartments.
Receiver communication.
And particularly the condition of the casing around screws and threads.
Older electronics can be excellent value, but only when they’ve been treated properly.
The other consideration is repairability.
With any discontinued alarm, check what servicing and spare options remain available before investing heavily in a full set.
A good set of TXi Plus alarms can still perform perfectly well.
Fish haven’t upgraded their technology since Delkim released them.
TXi Plus or the newer TXI-D generation – which do you prefer?
