Chilli hemp for carp fishing: worth making?

Hemp is one of the most reliable particle baits in fishing.

Adding chilli has also become incredibly popular.

The attraction is easy to understand.

Cooked hemp produces tiny oily seeds that carp can spend a long time picking over.

Chilli adds another strong food signal without needing expensive flavour bottles.

Preparing it is straightforward.

Soak dry hemp first.

Then boil until the seeds begin splitting and the small white shoots become visible.

Chilli flakes or powder can be added during or after cooking depending on your preferred method.

Don’t go ridiculous with it.

You’re making bait, not testing whether carp can survive the world’s hottest curry.

Hemp works brilliantly in spod mixes, alongside corn, pellet and chopped boilies.

It can also keep carp grubbing around a spot for a long period because there are thousands of tiny food items to find.

As always with particles, preparation matters.

Proper soaking and cooking aren’t optional.

Do you add chilli to your hemp or prefer it completely plain?
