If you own a pair of waders, you’ll know they can be a nightmare to transport. Mud, water and damp kit quickly end up all over the boot of the car or the back of the van. That’s exactly why I picked up the Speero Wader Bag, and it’s been one of those bits of kit I wish I’d bought years ago.
The first thing that stands out is the build quality. Like most Speero luggage, it’s made from tough 600D Cordura, so it feels like it’ll last for years. The material is water-resistant, the stitching is excellent, and the heavy-duty zips feel solid rather than flimsy.
Size-wise it’s spot on. It’ll comfortably take a pair of breathable or neoprene waders with room left over for wet socks, waterproofs or a spare change of clothes. The large opening makes it easy to chuck everything in after a session instead of wrestling with awkward zips while you’re stood in the car park.
One feature I really appreciate is the waterproof base. After packing away muddy or soaking wet waders, I can simply wipe the bottom clean when I get home. It keeps the rest of my gear protected and stops mud finding its way everywhere.
For me, it works perfectly in the back of my VW T5 camper. It fits neatly without taking up loads of room and keeps all the dirty gear contained in one place rather than spreading it around the van. If you’ve got a camper or spend plenty of nights on the bank, it’s a genuinely handy bit of luggage.
It’s also surprisingly good value considering the quality. There are cheaper bags available, but they don’t feel anywhere near as well made, and I’d rather buy something once that I know will last.
Overall
The Speero Wader Bag is one of those simple products that just makes life easier. It’s tough, practical, well thought out and does exactly what it’s supposed to do. If you regularly wear waders, it’s an easy recommendation and one of those purchases you won’t regret.
