ESP Syncro XT has been around for years, yet it still gets mentioned whenever anglers talk about reliable carp line.
That longevity is usually a good sign.
A main line does not need to be fashionable.
It needs to cast well, sink properly, resist abrasion and remain manageable on the spool.
Syncro XT has always had a reputation for being dependable rather than flashy.
One thing I particularly like in a carp mono is a bit of weight.
A line that settles nicely rather than floating around on the surface makes life easier, especially when fishing multiple rods.
Abrasion resistance is also vital if you fish weedy or snaggy waters.
The question is whether newer lines have moved things on significantly.
There are now loads of fluorocarbon-coated monos and ultra-heavy sinking lines available.
Despite that, plenty of anglers seem to keep going back to Syncro.
Sometimes tackle stays popular because it simply works.
Anyone still using Syncro XT as their main line?
