Just goes to show that sometimes the biggest decision of the session isn’t what rig or bait you’re using… it’s whether you’re prepared to move.

Since joining Embryo Norton Disney, Greg has been putting together some impressive captures around the complex, but this 36lb 10oz Holdens Lake mirror has to be one of the highlights so far.

The session started in Swim 11, but after spotting fish showing elsewhere, Greg made the move into Swim 1. That switch produced a few lovely 20-pounders before the action slowed. Rather than sitting it out, he trusted what he was seeing and moved again, this time into Swim 6.

That decision paid off with this cracking mirror.

Greg fished a simple solid bag approach at around 17½ wraps, tight to the left-hand margin towards the dip in the tree. He kept the baiting light with just a couple of Spombs over each accurately placed solid bag, while a Match The Hatch dumbbell wafter did the business on the hook.

It’s another reminder that watercraft often counts for more than anything else. Reading the lake, spotting showing fish and having the confidence to move can completely change a session.

Would you pack up and move if the fish weren’t in front of you, or are you more likely to sit it out and wait? :fishing_pole:
